Ugh.

I went to the surgeon's office yesterday and saw a Physician's Assistant, Earle Grey, about my slow healing incision. He examined the horribly irritated area and said I was definitely having an allergic reaction to the adhesive in the strips used to hold the incision together. The skin under the strips was actually burned and dying - YUCK! Luckily the incision itself was closed and not infected. I simply have to treat the area with hydro-cortisone twice a day and it will clear up on it's own.

While there I also asked him about the swelling I have in my feet and now my hands too. He didn't think it was related to my surgery so I have to see my primary doctor. To add to the fun I also have a rash that started on my foot but has spread to other parts of my body now too. Yay.

Well I was diagnosed with SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) a few years ago and had cardiac ablation surgery to fix it. I was passing out almost dayly and haven't passed out since the surgery. Though I'm still having some issues with my heart I don't like my cardiologist (he said that my heart and EDS didn't have any connection). And the thing with my legs isn't so much that they don't work right, but I'm in a wheelchair full time so they don't get used. I sorta doubt I could have two different tachycardias, but who knows. I will hopefully be seeing an EDS specialist at Duke University sometime next year and she specializes in heart problems caused by EDS and Marfans so who knows what she'll find.

So do you have this horrible leg pain too? I must admit last night after I wrote my blog it sort of hit me that I'm just going to have to live with it and deal with the paine and made me depressed. My migraines have medicine that help the pain, and I take daily time released morphine and 10/650 Lorcet as needed for the rest of the pain. But this stupid leg pain is so bad and nothing helps it. Propping them up really high helps some though it's hard on my hips and back and I like to think that a full Lidocaine patch or two one each leg helps, but I'm preatty sure that it is just me wanting something to help even just a tiny bit. beh, stupid legs >_<
